The Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint returns to the mechanical configuration that is base for the Giulietta. The four-cylinder engine is made entirely of aluminum. Compared to that of its ancestors, the Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint has, in addition to the increase in displacement from 1290 to 1570cm³, exhaust valves which are sodium-cooled. The front suspensions had a particularly sporty layout with an overlapped wishbone, while the rear suspensions we made more effective by moving springs and shock absorbers from axle shafts to the tie rods. Much like the cutting edge mechanics, the car also had a very modern body with rigid passen-ger cells. The fundamental aspect of the Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint was the top level performance. In this version, the new parts are the steering wheel and the dashboard, where the three crucial circular elements were placed horizontally in front of the driver. In 1964, after the presentation of the Giulia Sprint GT (also inspired by the body of Bertone, designed by Giorgetto Giugiaro), which began only with a 1600 motor, the body of the Giulia Sprint (also produced by Bertone) was still available and was reinserted in the Alfa Romeo line. This version has an interior like that of the Giulia Sprint and it also has front disc brakes. Production stopped definitively in 1965.
